Fortinet storage modules extend the capabilities of FortiGate multithreat security systems by adding local storage for security and system event logging. The modules can also enable the WAN optimization function in FortiOS software (v4.0 or later), which accelerate applications commonly affected by slower wide-area network connections.
The FSM-064 module adds 64 gigabytes (GB) of solid-state disk storage capacity to a compatible Fortinet hardware system. Systems equipped with Fortinet Storage Module (FSM) bays can add local storage capacity when needed, with some systems allowing multiple FSM-064 modules and RAID support. Another great benefit of the FSM-064 module is that it adds local storage without the concerns of reducing overall system availability and uptime.
The ASM-S08 module is a single-width AMC form-factor option which cost effectively adds local storage capacity to compatible FortiGate platforms. The ASM-S08 features an 80GB commercialgrade hard disk drive.
The Fortinet Advantage
Fortinet’s comprehensive portfolio of security products offers a powerful blend of integrated multi-threat protection, ASIC-accelerated performance, and in-depth threat intelligence. This unique combination delivers the highest levels of security to enterprises of all sizes. Fortinet products reduce total cost of ownership and provide a flexible, scalable path for expansion.
Local Security and System Event Logging |
Allows smaller deployments or isolated systems to attain log storage facilities without requiring the use of a FortiAnalyzer appliance or other external logging system. |
Enables FortiOS 4.0 WAN Optimization |
Accelerates application traffic traversing slower network connections. The combination of multi-threat security, traffic optimization, and VPN technologies provides cleaned, accelerated, and secured communications. |
Modular Form Factor |
Empowers you with the ability to build the ideal system configuration for any environment. You can also upgrade an existing Fortinet system with new capabilities as your requirements change. |
