With its single processor and enterprise-class performance, the HPE DL120 Gen7 server is a very cost-effective solution for SMBs running typical business applications or for use as a test server. It also features HPE’s iLO suite of management tools including remote management.
The DL120 Gen7 server accepts several different dual and quad-core processors to support both your business needs and budget. Administrators can choose from either a single Intel Xeon E3-1200, Intel iCore i3, Intel Pentium, or Intel Celeron processor. Hyper-Threading technology and turbo boost are supported on the Xeon and iCore processors only. The maximum data transfer speeds supported by DDR3 memory modules can only be attained with an appropriate processor.
There are four DIMM slots on the HPE DL120 G7 system board total supporting 2GB or 4GB unbuffered (UDIMM) memory modules. With all four memory slots loaded with 4GB memory modules that’s 16GB total. Depending on your choice of processor memory speeds will run at 1333MHz or 1066MHz.
Depending on your budget and needs, this system will support up to four 3.5-inch SATA/SAS drives either cold-plug or hot-plug. Maximum internal storage is rated at 8TB for SAS and 16TB for SATA. There are two storage controllers to choose from, the Smart Array B110i SATA RAID controller or the Smart Array P212 SATA RAID controller. Other PCIe-based controllers are supported for hot-plug SAS/SATA support.
There are two PCIe 2.0 expansion slots total on the DL120 Gen7 server. One that supports a full-width, full height card and another for a half-height, low-profile card. The system also comes with two embedded HP NCI12i single port Ethernet server adapter network controllers.
HPE’s Insight management software and HPE integrated Lights Out (iLO 3.0) are standard offerings on this system. iLO 3.0 offers out of band management of the system and helps with server setup, health monitoring, and functions without an OS or additional software. iLO works with HPE’s Insight Manager to help get the most value out of the system.
