The HPE ProLiant ML150 Gen9 Server Tower delivers the perfect mix of performance, price, and expandability. It supports dual Intel Xeon processors with up to 18 cores and is ideal for a wide array of workloads from a sophisticated SMB to a large enterprise organization. Performance
You can install one or two Intel Xeon E5-2600 v4 processors with up to 18 cores and a TDP of 120W. Each processor supports four memory channels operating at a top frequency of 2400MHz.
Storage
Storage is not an issue with the HPE ML150 Gen9 server tower. It can support both 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch SAS and SATA drives. A non-hot plug version can host up to ten 3.5-inch drives but mixing drive cages is not allowed. Hot plug configurations include four and eight 3.5-inch drives or eight or sixteen 2.5-inch drives. If you plan on maximizing storage specific HD/RAID controllers are recommended. The ten LFF HD version does not support an optical storage device but most other configurations do.
Memory
There are 16 memory module slots, total. on the system board with each CPU in charge of 8 memory slots with two memory models per channel. The system supports up to 512GB of Registered (RDIMM) memory modules operating at up to 2400MHz. ECC memory with enhanced error handling helps to prevent data loss and downtime.
Expansion
There are a total of 6 PCIe Gen3 slots. With one processor only four slots can be used. With a second processor, all 6 PCIe slots can used to support additional devices. With the 9th generation of this server, the system will support two single-wide or one double-wide GPU card to boost performance for graphic and VDI applications in financial services, education, scientific research, and medical imaging.
Management
The HPE ML150 Gen9 tower server supports several operating systems including Microsoft Windows, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Suse Linux Enterprise, VMWare, or ClearOS on there. Additional security management options include iLO, HPE Insight Control, Data Protection, Storage Resource Management, Insight Cluster Management, and High-Performance Computing interconnect technologies.
